Well, what is this all about? I think it will become clear to me, and to you I hope as well, as it evolves. But for now, I’m not real sure what I’ll be writing about.
I expect I might have some topics such as the history of this boat – cos she’s a famous Australian racing boat with a rich history and it would be good to share that.
Also I think I’ll talk about adventures as they unfold, maybe such as a ships log – you know, the things of the day.
Then I’ll have story about converting her to run entirely on the batteries, and so it could be interesting to see how I figure out the motive power for her. So that will be about power from the sun.
And lets see what else appears on these pages as I get going.

well, yes and no. Yes you’d be most welcome to come on board and take a look at the Torqeedo.
You’re probably thinking I’d succumbed to Monty’s syndrome – getting stuck in the yard. But you see, I’ve been cured, and am now moored in Careel Bay, in Pittwater after a nice sail down here last week.
I’ve noticed your proa there on my occasional trips up the river to test the batteries. The Torqeedo is probably nice match for it.
Here in Pittwater the circumstances are perfect for a solar electric motor. Today I did a short sail to the heads and back, and used the motor briefly off and on the mooring, and then again this afternoon to move to another mooring in a stiff breeze. Already the power I used today has been recovered from the sun, plus another half dozen amp-hours on top of that.
I’d be happy to answer any question you have.
For the next few months I’ll be at Pittwater and after that, who knows…
